Luca grew up in an environment immersed in art and creativity, thanks to his father, who held a prominent role as a technical director at Zagato, a company renowned in the automotive sector for producing innovative prototypes for various car manufacturers. This background contributed to shaping his artistic inclination from a young age, aptly defining him as a true "child of art".
From an early age, Luca was introduced to the world of motocross by his father, an experience that marked the beginning of his passion for two-wheelers. As soon as he obtained his license at the age of 16, he began practicing motocross as an amateur. However, traditional schooling failed to capture his interest, and at 15, upon his father's advice, who recognized his manual skills, he embarked on a path to become a model maker.
After a year of apprenticeship at a model-making workshop in Milan, specializing in the creation of models for industrial foundries, Luca acquired the fundamental technical skills necessary for his future career. Once he completed this training period, he joined a company that created models of bicycles, helicopters, and even submarines. This company worked closely with Zagato, providing full-scale models based on technical drawings, all crafted by hand with great mastery.
His skill led him to participate in the creation of styling models for prestigious brands such as Cagiva, Ducati, and Husqvarna. His collaboration with Cagiva involved him in the creation of models like the Cagiva Planet 125 and the Ducati Monster for the Monaco / Monte Carlo police, while his work with Marabese Design contributed to the creation of iconic motorcycles such as the Moto Morini Corsaro 1200, Moto Morini 9 1/2, and Moto Morini GranPasso. These works not only cemented his reputation in the industry but also highlighted his exceptional ability to shape forms and details.
However, after a period of rest, Luca decided to retreat to the Colli Berici, dedicating himself to personal research, sculpture, and interior decorations. This phase of his life saw him create sculptural works, bas-reliefs in polystyrene and plaster, as well as musical instruments such as Celtic harps and an electric guitar. He also deepened his knowledge of mosaic techniques during his time at the Spilimbergo school, demonstrating his continuous thirst for learning and artistic experimentation.
After a period of reflection, Luca returned to his original passion as a model maker, actively participating in the creation and testing of the Quadro 3D prototype. His expertise made him a renowned resin caster during a period spent in France, and it was during this time that he had the opportunity to meet Silvio, who was already working in the automotive-related company. From this meeting, the idea of Rusty Brains was born, an aesthetic motorcycle customization workshop based in Milan, Italy. The combination of Luca's skills in shaping forms and working with resin, together with Silvio's experience in the automotive sector, gave life to this fascinating entrepreneurial initiative.
