Bogdan doesn’t ride a motorcycle yet, but he’s always ready to photograph one. He has been a photographer, web designer, and graphic designer for over 20 years. Born in Romania, he lives in Milan and has always nurtured a passion for imagery. He primarily creates portraits, but his curiosity drives him to explore other subjects as well.
In 2013, he met Luca in the Colli Berici, a place where Bogdan had retreated for a reflective break from the hustle and bustle of big cities. This meeting sparked a deep friendship between them, as they had both come to those places for the same reason.
After his “hermit” period ended, Bogdan started traveling across Europe, living first in Spain, then in France, and England, with the intention of exploring new places and finding new inspirations.
These experiences led him to shed his old identities and embrace being a citizen of the world, achieving a freedom that is rarely known and often unexplored today. In fact, he prefers not to define himself as either an artist or a photographer, but rather as an observer or witness of reality.
Bogdan is drawn to the nuances of the world, the people, objects, and situations he encounters and experiences during his travels.
In 2017, he returned to Rome, where he had lived before his retreat. Here, he embarked on a comprehensive and in-depth course of study in photography, and upon completion, he moved to Milan, where he met Luca again. During a dinner, he saw Luca's latest custom motorcycle projects, created with Silvio, and showed interest in Rusty Brains, a project that had always existed but hadn’t yet found a defined form.
Bogdan saw the opportunity to give the project an image and a new identity, photographing and telling the story of the custom motorcycles they created.
And so, with renewed energy, a new chapter began for Rusty Brains.
